Bjelin’s hardened wood and rigid core collections, featuring patented technologies by Välinge Innovation, have been nominated for this year’s Green Collection Award. The award – presented by Domotex, one of the flooring industry’s most respected trade fairs – recognises exceptionally eco-friendly products, responsible production processes, and companies committed to sustainable practices.
“We’re honoured to be recognised for the efforts we put into producing more sustainable flooring products,” says Fredrik Alfredsson, Bjelin’s Global Head of Sales. “Our company was founded on a sustainable invention, and innovation and creating a positive impact continue to be integral to our business decisions.”
The hardened wood range is empowered by the patented Woodura technology, ensuring these 100% real wood floors – suitable for both residential and commercial spaces – are three times stronger than traditional wood floors while only using a tenth of the raw material. That means this flooring not only preserves trees in the forest but also offers exceptional durability for a prolonged product life.
Bjelin’s premium rigid core flooring features cutting-edge Liteback technology that makes these resilient floors up to 20% lighter compared to traditional alternatives. This reduces CO2 emissions through decreased material consumption and enhanced transport efficiency while also making the floors lighter, easier to handle and more sound-absorbent.
Both product ranges incorporate the leakproof 5G Dry floor locking technology that ensures the floors are easy to install and uninstall, should the flooring be moved and reused. Watertight joins also mean no leakage through the seams to the subfloor, adding to their durability.
The Green Collection Award highlights best practices in several areas of sustainability: eco-friendly products, healthy products, social responsibility, and sustainable production. The winner will be chosen by a select jury and announced during Domotex in Hannover, Germany, 11 - 14 January 2024.
