The surface of my new hardened floor feels a bit rough – is something wrong?

In connection with production, we lightly brush up the surface to apply the oil to the floor, hence the floor can feel a bit rough. Any feeling of roughness in the floor decreases during the installation oiling and as the floor is used and the pores in the oiled wooden surface are clogged. The degree of gloss in the floor will also be affected during installation oiling, and the floor will have a slightly shinier surface.

The structure of the wood also plays a role in how the surface is experienced. The different grades of the floor have different properties and a Select grade has denser fibers than a Rustic grade. This depends on how the tree has grown and then how it is cut and sorted.

The lacquered products are perceived as less rough when the pores are closed and encapsulated during the painting as the lacquer lies like a blanket over the floor surface.
